I aim to be an engaging teacher who brings learning to life through relevant content and pedagogical practices. I pride myself on my ability to treat my students with respect and empathy, and the value that I place on their opinions and ideas. I recognize that teaching is a dialectical and introspective profession that requires humility and a passion for lifelong learning. I place a lot of value on my students' feedback, and I think it's important for educators to be transparent in that we're always learning, too.

iPALS

Virtual Wellness Program

The Illinois Physical Activity and Life Skills (iPALS) Wellness Program is a free summer learning and enrichment program for underrepresented youth in Champaign, Illinois. Due to COVID-19, the regularly scheduled in-person summer wellness program was transitioned to an online program in the fall of 2020. I created the virtual wellness program structure, the program's learning management system domain, and the program's curricular learning materials. I was responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of twelve employees/teachers. I also led one-on-one tutoring sessions with youth participants over Zoom, created and disseminated marketing materials, created purchase orders, enrolled participants, and communicated with parents.
