Instructional Materials
I aim to be an engaging teacher who brings learning to life through relevant content and pedagogical practices. I pride myself on my ability to treat my students with respect and empathy, and the value that I place on their opinions and ideas.​ I recognize that teaching is a dialectical and introspective profession that requires humility and a passion for lifelong learning. I place a lot of value on my students' feedback, and I think it's important for educators to be transparent in that we're always learning, too.

Clinical Kinesiology

Children's Movement
This course provides an overview of kinesiology principles and physical activity related to children. It is designed for Elementary Education majors and designed to prepare them to safely instruct diverse children's movement learning activities in their future classrooms. Personal Health & Wellness
This course examines the principles covering responsible behavior and risk factors influencing one's physical health, psychological health, and sexual health throughout the lifespan. This course takes a holistic look at wellness and each week dives into different component of wellness, including: time management, health behavior theories, SMART goals, emotional health, intellectual health, financial health, social health, sexual health, physical activity, recovery and sleep, nutrition, disease prevention and lifecycle health. Research Methods
This course provides an introduction of physical activity measurement and methods. The course focuses on defining physical activity and associated terms and concepts, providing detailed understanding of approaches and tools for measuring physical activity, and facilitating understanding of scientific methods for physical activity research (e.g. experimental and non-experimental designs). Sociological &Psychological Aspects of Physical Activity
This course discusses how social and psychological processes and constraints affect human action in physical activity environments. Attention is given to socialization, personal dynamics, stratification, and ideological and economic constraints upon the manifestations of physical activity. Aerobic Dance Activities
This physical activity based course covers the skills and knowledge essential for leisure-time activities which are classified as developmental activities. This course exposes students to a variety of movement forms including group fitness, strength training, and dance while examining and teaching students how to apply the FITT principle to their personal fitness. iPALS
Virtual Wellness Program
The Illinois Physical Activity and Life Skills (iPALS) Wellness Program is a free summer learning and enrichment program for underrepresented youth in Champaign, Illinois. Due to COVID-19, the regularly scheduled in-person summer wellness program was transitioned to an online program in the fall of 2020. I created the virtual wellness program structure, the program's learning management system domain, and the program's curricular learning materials. I was responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of twelve employees/teachers. I also led one-on-one tutoring sessions with youth participants over Zoom, created and disseminated marketing materials, created purchase orders, enrolled participants, and communicated with parents.
